An Original Zap Zide Is Going to Prison

“Do You Accept Bitcoin?” will be auctioned at the Noderunners Conference in Arnhem.

On September 19, 2026, an original Zap Zide cartoon is going to prison.

It should be released the same day, provided someone pays the bail in sats.

Do You Accept Bitcoin? is a framed, hand-signed 1/1 Zap Zide artwork created for the Noderunners Conference 2026. It will spend the afternoon in the Bitcoin Art Greenhouse before going under the hammer at Koepelgevangenis Arnhem.

There is no online bidding. If you want to take it home, you will have to enter a former prison voluntarily and compete with several other people making the same questionable financial decision.

A reasonable question

“Do you accept Bitcoin?” has been asked in cafés, shops, bars and restaurants for years. It is usually followed by a blank stare, an enthusiastic conversation or someone pointing at a QR code.

Occasionally, it even results in a payment.

The artwork offered in Arnhem is the complete physical edition: one framed and signed 1/1.

Noderunners Conference 2026

The venue could hardly be more appropriate. Koepelgevangenis is a former prison, now used as a cultural and events space.

For one day, a building designed around confinement will host Bitcoin builders, artists, node runners and privacy-minded plebs. The program includes talks, workshops, hardware, arcade games and discussions about privacy, self-custody and permissionless money.

The Bitcoin Art Museum

The temporary Bitcoin Art Museum brings together cartoons, paintings, prints, books, electronics and modified Bitcoin hardware. Visitors can inspect the works before they are transferred to people who have made increasingly determined hand gestures.

Brinkie will host the live auction, expected to begin at approximately 16:30. Bidding is on-site only.

By the end of the auction, someone will own Do You Accept Bitcoin?

Presumably, the answer will be yes.
